Lawsuit reveals Lindsay Clancy heard 'compelling voices' before children’s deaths
Lindsay Clancy was allegedly prescribed eight different psychiatric drugs
The tragic story of the Clancy family has taken a poignant turn as Patrick Clancy files a wrongful death lawsuit following the deaths of his three children: Cora, Dawson, and baby Callan.
The legal action alleges a catastrophic failure by healthcare providers, claiming Lindsay Clancy was prescribed a "bevy of diverse and powerful medications"—at least nine in total—with eight administered in just three weeks.
Patrick argues that "If Defendants had not acted negligently... it is more likely than not that Patrick and Lindsay’s children would still be alive today."
The filing paints a harrowing picture of Lindsay's mental decline. According to medical records, she allegedly began hearing a "compelling and unrecognizable singular male voice that told her 'this is your last chance' and that she had to 'take them with [her].'"
This same voice reportedly "indicated to [Lindsay] that she should die ... and that her children would suffer if she was gone."
Patrick claims that despite these severe symptoms and a history of struggling with postpartum health, his wife’s reaction to the drugs was not appropriately monitored.
While prosecutors allege the January 2023 tragedy was planned, Lindsay’s defence will pursue an insanity plea, citing postpartum psychosis.
Despite the horror of discovering his children strangled after his wife's suicide attempt, Patrick has publicly stated that he forgives her.
As the July trial approaches, the lawsuit serves as a sobering reminder of the complexities of maternal mental health and the desperate need for vigilant medical care.
