Former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard Johnson becomes a grandmother at 39
Tyler Johnson shared his immense pride on social media as the family welcomed the newest addition to their large brood
The Maynard-Johnson family has a beautiful new reason to celebrate as Ricki Hendrick, daughter of The Bachelorette alum Emily Maynard Johnson, welcomed her first child on Friday.
Ricki, 20, shared the news on Instagram with black-and-white photos of the moment her daughter arrived, simply captioning it, "Best day ever."
The birth marks a poignant milestone for Emily, 39, who found out she was pregnant with Ricki just days after her fiancé, race car driver Ricky Hendrick, died in a 2004 plane crash.
Now, two decades later, Emily and her husband Tyler Johnson are embracing their roles as grandparents.
Tyler shared his joy online, writing, "We became grandparents today!! The feeling is inexpressible. This is love. 1 John 4:7-11."
Throughout the pregnancy, the family maintained a lighthearted bond. When asked about having a child outside of marriage, Emily playfully quipped in a video, "I'm very against it. I cannot believe anybody would ever do that. Unforgivable."
Ricki joined in the joke, sarcastically telling followers, "My mom is, truthfully, so devastated. She's so upset. She's not excited at all for me to have a baby," while showing off the mountain of baby clothes Emily had already bought.
In addition to the new arrival, Ricki is joined by six younger siblings—Jennings, Gibson, Gatlin, Nola Belle, and Jones—who were all present to meet their new niece.
The family’s social media posts captured a house full of love, bottle-feedings, and the proud great-grandmother meeting the little girl.
