12-year-old boy disappears while swimming at popular beach
Last sighting of Danny in Venus Bay, Australia waters, occurred on Sunday, January 25
Officials in Australia are requesting help from the community to find a missing boy.
On Sunday (January 25), Victoria Police reported in a news release the disappearance of 12-year-old Danny after he went missing that morning at Venus Bay on Victoria's east coast.
Danny was last observed swimming at No. 4 Beach around 11:30am local time.
“His family could no longer see him and began searching with help from the public," mentioned Victoria Police.
Danny is detailed as approximately 5 feet 5 inches in height with short, dark hair, brown eyes, and a slim appearance.
According to the authorities, he was last seen dressed in “a navy blue rash vest and navy boardshorts with a white stripe.” His home is in Taylors Hill, a suburb of Melbourne.
Emergency services were alerted about Danny's disappearance shortly after 1pm local time, initiating a widespread search operation.
“Local patrols were aided in their search by the Air Wing, Water Police Squad, Coast Guard, Victoria State Emergency Service, Life Saving Victoria, and other beach users,” stated the Victoria Police.
The search is anticipated to continue until it turns dark and will resume on Monday, January 26.
