Charli XCX praises Kylie Jenner’s ‘phenomenal’ turn in 'The Moment'
The Moment features a star-studded lineup of cameos, including many big stars
Charli XCX has heaped praise on Kylie Jenner, calling her “phenomenal” in the upcoming mockumentary The Moment.
The 33-year-old singer stars in the film, directed and co-written by Aidan Zamiri, which is inspired by Charli’s real-life music tour and blends scripted storytelling with celebrity cameos. Jenner appears as herself in the project, and Charli said the reality star exceeded expectations.
“The sort of people who are playing themselves — as you mentioned Kylie — she was just phenomenal,” Charli told Deadline. “She totally got the assignment. She is a really great actress.”
The Moment features a star-studded lineup of cameos, including Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates and Alexander Skarsgård. Charli also highlighted Rachel Sennott and Julia Fox for their appearances in the film.
“Rachel as well, who is playing herself, was also incredible,” she said. “There’s a little Julia Fox cameo moment in there too. Bringing all of these amazing people into the world was just so fabulous.”
Charli recently spoke about how closely her on-screen character reflects her real-life personality.
Speaking at the Sundance Film Festival, she admitted she drew heavily from her own experiences while making the film.
“I’m obviously quite related to my character, so I had a lot of inspiration to pull from,” she said. “I’d like to think I’m not as much of a nightmare as Charli in the film, but my real managers are in the audience and they probably know the true answer to that.”
