New Xbox Cloud Gaming design hints at future Console UI

Microsoft has begun trialing a new Xbox Cloud Gaming web interface that is designed to resemble a console.

 Xbox Insiders can now explore this preview UI, which features enhanced navigation, numerous fresh animations, and a modern appearance. This seems like a glimpse into the future for Xbox consoles.

The Xbox Cloud Gaming design last received a significant revamp about two years ago when Microsoft incorporated social features and UI similar to the Xbox dashboard. 

This updated version further aligns the UI with the Xbox console experience, showcasing additional animations, a renovated library section, and a sleeker design.

Among new animations are a sliding dashboard that smoothly appears, a dynamic Xbox icon that illuminates and morphs, along with enhanced navigation across dashboard sections. 

These subtle enhancements significantly upgrade the Xbox Cloud Gaming navigation, which now resembles a seamless app rather than a web-based experience.

“Our efforts are towards creating a refreshed web experience for Xbox Cloud Gaming that will serve as the groundwork for speeding up the creation of innovative experiences for players,” remarks Patrick Siu, principal product manager at Xbox. “This preview offers an early glance at our novel web setup in your browser, allowing you to test the new design and product structure before its widespread release.”

The indication that this new UI forms the basis for “fresh experiences” suggests that Microsoft might incorporate this framework into a future Xbox console.
