Meghan Markle’s cooking show axed as viewing figures collapse
The Duchess of Sussex has seen major viewership losses for the second series of her show
Meghan Markle has reportedly discovered that breaking into the culinary world is far more difficult than it looks, following news that her cooking show will not return for a full third season.
The Duchess of Sussex has seen a significant drop in viewers for the second instalment of With Love, Meghan, leading royal commentators to suggest she underestimated the challenge of television production.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror that the decline in ratings proves "making a successful TV series is not as easy as she might have thought."
Bond noted that while curiosity fuelled the initial series, the programme struggled to stand out in a "saturated market" of lifestyle content.
Critics pointed out that the show lacked a "unique" hook, particularly as it was not filmed within the Sussexes' actual residence, denying viewers a "peek behind the scenes of their domestic life."
According to a source speaking to Page Six, the project is "not returning as a series," though there have been vague discussions regarding potential one-off holiday specials.
Instead, it appears the Duchess will pivot her strategy toward "bite-sized" cooking and crafting clips shared directly via her social media channels to support her lifestyle brand.
While Meghan was described as a "perfectly pleasant" presenter, it seems the lack of original content—and the limited appearances of Prince Harry—left the show unable to compete with the vast array of style and food influencers already dominating the screen.
