Trevor Noah critiques Bezos' wedding, Minaj's Trump support in 2026 Grammys monologue
Ex 'Daily Show' host launched into his opening segment by acknowledging Rosé and Bruno Mars
Trevor Noah took the stage to host the Grammy Awards for the sixth consecutive year on Sunday night — and he kicked off the event with a slew of sizzling jokes targeting Jeff Bezos, Nicki Minaj, and more.
The ex-“Daily Show” host launched into his opening segment at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles by acknowledging Rosé and Bruno Mars, who had just started the night with their popular song “APT.”
“And with that, we have officially begun the 68th Grammy Awards,” remarked Noah, 41.
“We also enjoy a front-row seat to the finest concert that money can buy,” he stated before listing performers like Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Reba McEntire, and rapper Lauryn Hill.
“The last occasion Lauryn Hill graced the Grammys stage was in 1999,” Noah noted. “In 1999, the president faced a scandal; people feared computers would take over; and Diddy had a legal issue.”
“Wow, how the times have shifted,” the comedian added with a sarcastic tone.

Noah continued by acknowledging the “royalty present here” — such as Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx — before poking fun at Amazon’s CEO and his star-filled wedding in Italy last June.
“There are so many stars gathered in this room, I feel like I’m attending Jeff Bezos’ wedding, but with more diversity,” he quipped.
Noah also made a jest about Nicki Minaj, who has shown her support for President Donald Trump.
“Nicki Minaj isn’t here. She’s at the White House talking over some topics with Trump,” he jested before delivering an exaggerated impression of the president, “Actually Nicki, I possess the biggest backside … it’s me … WAP, WAP, WAP. Check it out, darling.”
Wandering around and stopping at various tables, Noah approached Justin and Hailey Bieber to inquire if the beauty mogul had a promo code for her Rhode lip tint.
This year marked Noah’s sixth straight year hosting the Grammys, which will be his last time leading the biggest night in music.
The show's executive producer, Ben Winston of Fulwell Entertainment, called Sunday the comedian’s “final” engagement during the announcement of Noah as host last month.
