Teenager arrested after allegedly abducting Florida sisters met on Roblox
The girls allegedly used a family tablet to coordinate meeting after their phones were seized
A 19-year-old man from Nebraska has been arrested after allegedly driving nearly 24 hours to abduct two young sisters he met through the gaming app Roblox.
The victims, aged 12 and 14, were found safe in Georgia after a frantic multi-state search. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek revealed that Hser Mu Lah Say groomed the girls via Snapchat since mid-2025, even sending food deliveries to their Florida home.
The situation reached a breaking point on Saturday, after the girls were punished by their family for meeting a stranger at a park.
Despite having their mobile phones confiscated, the sisters allegedly used a family tablet to message Lah Say, who was "milling around" in Indiantown.
"I know these girls went willingly, but their age suggested that they had been taken and were probably being removed from our area," Budensiek noted during a press conference.
Investigators found a "constant thread of communication" including romantic messages, though nothing explicitly sexual has been uncovered yet.
The Sheriff admitted the case was "sobering," stating he believes his team "prevented something disastrous" from happening to the "impressionable" pair.
Lah Say, who has no prior criminal record, is currently in a Georgia jail facing two counts of kidnapping and two counts of interference with child custody.
He awaits extradition to Florida as detectives continue to forensically examine the digital devices involved.
This narrow escape serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers lurking within popular children’s gaming platforms.
