On Monday, nutritionist Deepshikha Jain shared a vital warning regarding who should reconsider their caffeine habit to avoid aggravating underlying health issues.
While coffee is a household staple, its role as a powerful stimulant means it is not a "one size fits all" beverage.
Those battling anxiety are at particular risk, as caffeine revs up the nervous system, often triggering palpitations and jitters.
Furthermore, if you suffer from frequent acidity or a sensitive gut, the nutritionist cautioned: “It can worsen your acid reflux and make you feel much worse.”
This disruption can ripple through the body, affecting everything from your immune system to your skin.
Expectant mothers are also urged to be cautious, as caffeine can cross the placenta and potentially impact a baby’s growth.
"Please limit or even reduce the consumption of coffee, which is going to actually impact the baby's or the fetus's development," Jain advised.
Finally, those with heart conditions or high blood pressure should be wary. Caffeine triggers an adrenaline release that makes the heart beat faster, with Jain noting: “Coffee can raise your blood pressure even more, causing worse high BP and symptoms.”
Understanding these triggers ensures that your love for a brew doesn't come at the expense of your long-term well-being.
