The long-simmering Epstein scandal has reached a boiling point for the York sisters following a massive document dump by the US Department of Justice in early 2026.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are said to be "aghast" and "mortified" by the contents of over three million newly released files, which include personal correspondence from their mother, Sarah Ferguson, to the late sex offender.

The files reportedly reveal that Ferguson frequently praised Epstein, at one point referring to him as "the brother I have always wished for" and a "supreme friend."

Perhaps most damaging for the sisters are details suggesting they were present for a lunch with Epstein in Miami in July 2009—occurring almost immediately after he completed a jail sentence for child sex offences.

While the Princesses have not been accused of any legal wrongdoing, the "continuous drip-feed" of information has turned them into "collateral damage."

Expert Duncan Larcombe notes that the "happy family unit" once maintained by the Yorks has effectively collapsed, mirroring Andrew's loss of his royal titles and his 2025 eviction from Royal Lodge.

As of February 2026, the sisters appear to be navigating the fallout differently. Eugenie is reportedly so "devastated" that she has significantly distanced herself from her father, while Beatrice is struggling to balance private family loyalty with her standing in the wider Royal Family.

With UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently suggesting Andrew should "be prepared" to testify in the US, the sisters remain caught in the centre of a scandal that refuses to fade.
