Zendaya, Robert Pattinson face relationship fallout in A24’s ‘The Drama’ trailer
Zendaya will next appear in season three of HBO’s 'Euphoria'
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson put their on-screen chemistry to the test in the newly released trailer for A24’s upcoming film The Drama, a tense relationship story that explores the dangers of revealing too much before saying “I do.”
Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario), the film is set to arrive in theaters on April 3.
The cast also includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates. The Drama follows Emma Harwood (Zendaya), an employee at a publishing house, and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson), a British museum director, whose seemingly happy engagement begins to unravel during the week leading up to their wedding.
The trailer teases a pivotal moment when the couple participates in a revealing party game with friends.
During the exchange, Emma shares an unexpected detail from her past, triggering visible discomfort from Charlie.
As tensions rise, Emma urges him to stop dwelling on the revelation, prompting Charlie’s uneasy reply: “How do you say, ‘Stop thinking?’” The moment sets the tone for a story that examines intimacy, honesty, and emotional fallout.
The film is produced by Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone, continuing A24’s streak of psychologically driven character studies.
Borgli previously collaborated with the studio on Dream Scenario, which earned Nicolas Cage a Golden Globe nomination following its 2023 release.
Zendaya will next appear in season three of HBO’s Euphoria, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and as part of the voice cast for Shrek 5.
Pattinson recently starred in Die My Love and is slated for Dune: Part Three, The Odyssey, and Netflix’s Here Comes the Flood.
