Pop star 'heartbroken' over UK Arena show cancellation, fans devastated
A major UK popstar has been 'heartbroken' by cancellation of UK tour date
A major British pop artist has been left "devastated" after having to call off a UK tour date.
The former The X Factor contestant, 37, cancelled his Nottingham performance due to "health issues" – but fans have been assured the show will be rearranged.
James Arthur shared that he risked "permanent damage" if he tried to perform through his condition at the Motorpoint Arena.
In an announcement on social media, the venue stated: “Sadly, James Arthur’s concert in Nottingham on Tuesday (February 3) has been postponed due to health issues.
“Keep your tickets, and a new date will be announced soon.”
The message included a personal note from the "Say You Won’t Let Go" star: “I’m truly heartbroken to delay this concert, but performing in my current condition could cause lasting harm.
"It's vital that I present the best version of myself on stage and offer you a show that meets your expectations.
“I deeply regret any inconvenience caused; this was the last thing I wanted to do. Thank you for the overwhelming love and support, and I vow to make it up to you at the earliest opportunity.”
He then clarified that the Glasgow concert scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, will proceed as planned.
He mentioned that performing in Nottingham was "premature for my medication to restore my voice."
Following his concert at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, he has a break before performing in Newcastle on February 6.
Last year, James released his album Pisces – which audiences will likely hear during the tour – following numerous personal challenges for the 2012 The X Factor winner.
