Much is known about how tech executives manage their companies. But how do those with families handle raising their children?

Even the immensely wealthy leaders face everyday parenting decisions, such as whether to restrict screen time and how to assign chores

Here's what some prominent figures in tech have said about their parenting methods.

Sam Altman

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared with Jimmy Fallon that ChatGPT has aided him in parenting his infant.

He remarked that he "cannot imagine" figuring out parenting an infant without the help of such technology. For instance, he inquired why his child wasn't crawling at a certain time.

He mentioned to the Senate that he does not wish his child to develop a deep friendship with an AI bot.

Mark Zuckerberg

In 2024, Zuckerberg advised Bloomberg on the significance of children learning critical thinking and values early on.

He also shared in a 2024 discussion that while taking his seven-year-old daughter to a Taylor Swift concert, he emphasised that becoming the superstar was not an option for her.

Satya Nadella

Satya Nadella reveals that his parents inspired him to follow his interests.

Nadella shares that his own parents "allowed me the space to set my pace and follow my preferences," shaping his method of raising his children.

The Microsoft CEO and his wife, Anu, also subscribe to the idea that "kids should have pets," she expressed to Good Housekeeping.

Sundar Pichai

Pichai still assists his children with homework, often with the help of Google Lens.

The Google CEO revealed to The New York Times in 2018 that his then-11-year-old son did not possess a phone, and his television time was restricted.

Bill Gates

Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates revealed he employed a parenting method from the 1970s known as the "Love and Logic" approach.

Gates, who held the title of the wealthiest man globally for many years, expressed a desire to prevent his kids from being excessively pampered.
