Veteran entertainer Barry Manilow has postponed his upcoming Las Vegas residency shows to focus on healing after undergoing surgery to remove part of his lung.

The 82-year-old singer, who is battling lung cancer, assured fans he is “doing great” following the operation but emphasized that his doctors advised rest.

In an Instagram statement, Manilow wrote, “With my doctor’s guidance, we have decided to postpone my residency dates at Westgate Las Vegas from Feb. 12–21 so I can stay focused on healing and getting ready for the tour kicking off at the end of February.

"Having a few extra weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered!” Tickets for the affected shows will be refunded."

Manilow revealed his cancer diagnosis in December, discovered after a prolonged bout of bronchitis.

He explained, “The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early.”

He added that doctors believe the cancer has not spread, making chemotherapy or radiation unnecessary. “No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns,” he joked.

The singer previously rescheduled his January concerts and expressed optimism about returning to the stage, adding: “Something tells me February is going to be one big party.”
