Inside Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo’s secret wedding

Christian McCaffrey has revealed how he and Olivia Culpo kept their 2024 wedding both personal and stress-free.

During a backstage chat with USA Today at the Intuit for Education Super Bowl Financial Literacy Forum on Feb. 3, the San Francisco 49ers running back, 29, reflected on tying the knot with Culpo, 33, in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, on June 29, 2024. 

The couple, who share daughter Colette, carefully planned their chapel ceremony and private reception at the Ocean House, a seaside resort that shut down entirely for their guests. Umbrellas shielded the bride from paparazzi, and a strict no-phones policy ensured everyone stayed present.

“I have the best wife and she did a great job of doing that,” McCaffrey said, praising Culpo’s planning skills. “Having the preparation done early and everything exactly how we wanted it to be… I just feel really lucky because a lot of that has to do with the company you keep and the people that are there.”

The couple focused on surrounding themselves with trusted friends and family, making the celebration feel intimate despite its size. 

“It was a cool event… but at the end of the day, the people there were all of our friends and family that we love to death, so it made it really easy for us to be present,” McCaffrey said.

Their careful approach echoes other celebrity weddings, like Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, and Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, where privacy and personal touches were key. 

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Colette, in July 2025, just over a year after saying “I do.”
