Craig David’s holiday rescue mission ends in shocking twist
Craig David’s attempt to save a stranded flying fish took a dark, comedic turn
Craig David’s tropical getaway took an unexpected turn when he attempted to play hero to a stranded marine animal.
In a viral Instagram video posted on Thursday, the 44-year-old singer is seen dining by the shore when a flying fish leaps from the waves, landing right at his feet.
“I’m literally having dinner, and this fish comes flying out,” the “7 Days” star explained to his followers.
Under the glow of a full moon, David gently scooped up the blue-winged creature. “Okay, now, putting you back in,” he murmured, tossing it back into the safety of the ocean.
However, the rescue mission took a grimly comedic turn. Seconds after hitting the water, a much larger predator emerged and instantly devoured the smaller fish.
A stunned David captioned the Reel, “Oh my days. Never expected the ending tho,” noting the event was a “divine message to receive- We can’t control life's plan.”
The singer woke up to a deluge of comments, with some fans jokingly pointing out that he had inadvertently delivered the fish to its end.
Reflecting on the "divine messenger" the next morning, David shared a philosophical take on the ordeal.
“You try and do the right thing in the moment, what feels right, but you have no idea what the play was,” he admitted.
To lighten the mood, resort staff later surprised him with a stunning pastry arrangement featuring an edible replica of the now-famous flying fish, proving there is always "beauty in the ocean."
