Kim Kardashian shares Barack Obama consoles her after bar exam setback
The SKIM founder says Obama shares words of encouragement with her
Kim Kardashian opened up about the support she received from former President Barack Obama after failing the California bar exam.
The 45-year-old reality star, who has been studying law for several years, revealed in an interview with Complex magazine that Obama shared words of encouragement, telling her that his wife, Michelle, also did not pass the exam on her first try.
“Afterwards, so many people told me about others who hadn’t passed and offered encouragement,” Kardashian said. “Even at a charity dinner, Obama told me Michelle didn’t pass on her first try. So many amazing attorneys and people I respect reached out, saying Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris also didn’t pass the first time. It’s not the end of the world, but no excuses—you just do better.”
Although she initially described the exam as a “one and done” due to the time and energy required, Kardashian has returned to her studies and is determined to try again.
“One day, I’ll retake it. I don’t know when; I have to find the time. But I don’t think I could live with myself if I don’t try again. I didn’t come this far just to give up,” she said.
Reflecting on her first attempt, Kardashian admitted she felt disappointed and lost confidence after receiving the results. “I was really uncomfortable and not confident for a while,” she told Time magazine.
Still, she remains motivated to turn the setback into a learning experience. “This really sucks because I put so much time into it, but I know what I can do better. I’m pretty good at taking a failure and turning it into something… you can feel sorry for yourself for a second, but I need to take that time and put it into studying more.”
