How to link your WordPress site to Anthropic’s Claude chatbot
Users maintain full control over what specific data Claude is allowed to see
Managing a website just became a lot more conversational. On Thursday, WordPress launched a dedicated Claude connector, allowing site owners to link their back-end data with Anthropic’s clever chatbot.
This integration acts like a digital assistant, letting you dive into your site’s performance without digging through complex menus.
Owners have total control over what they share, and the system is currently "read-only," ensuring the AI cannot accidentally break your code or change your layout.
Once the link is established, you can ask Claude to crunch the numbers on your monthly web traffic or pinpoint which articles are failing to grab attention.
To help users get started, WordPress provided handy template prompts such as “Show me pending comments on my blog,” “Which of my sites gets the most traffic?” or “Show me which posts are generating the most discussion.”
Beyond mere analytics, the tool can even help with technical housekeeping by answering questions like “What plug-ins are installed on my main site?”
Although the current setup is strictly for observation, WordPress previously hinted that “write” access is on the horizon.
This could eventually allow users to handle editorial tasks or manage comments directly through the chat interface. For now, it’s a brilliant way to humanise data, making site management feel less like a chore and more like a chat with an expert.
It’s a significant step toward making sophisticated site analysis accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical background.
