Halle Berry teases possible storm return in future Marvel projects
The Oscar winner portrayed Storm in the original superhero trilogy and in the 'Days of Future Past'
Halle Berry has said she would return to her iconic X-Men role “in a heartbeat,” even though she is not set to appear in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
The Oscar winner, 59, famously portrayed Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm, in the original X-Men trilogy and later reprised the weather-controlling mutant in 2014’s Days of Future Past.
While several of her former castmates, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn, are confirmed for Doomsday, Berry’s name is absent from the official lineup.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Berry admitted she was disappointed not to be part of the next installment but made it clear she hasn’t closed the door on the franchise.
“While I’m sad I won’t be in Doomsday this round, there are other rounds,” she said. “And I would do that in a heartbeat.”
Berry also reflected on what the X-Men films have meant to her personally, particularly as a mother.
She said she has been proud to share the franchise with her children, highlighting the themes of belonging and resilience at the heart of the mutant saga.
“I think the whole world of the X-Men and being mutants and outcasts,” she said. “They’ve been movies that I’ve been proud to have my children watch.
They have so much to say that I thought has been really important, especially for my children as they’ve grown. So they’re beloved.”
Avengers: Doomsday is expected to feature a wide roster of returning Marvel stars, including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright and Paul Rudd.
Robert Downey Jr. is also set to appear, though not as Tony Stark, but as the villain Doctor Doom.
