Romeo Beckham debuts ‘family’ neck tattoo amid ongoing rift with brother Brooklyn
Romeo Beckham debuts a new neck tattoo days after brother Brooklyn covers up his tribute to dad David
Romeo Beckham has unveiled a new tattoo carrying a pointed message amid his highly publicized family rift with older brother Brooklyn Beckham.
The 23-year-old shared images on Instagram revealing fresh ink on the back of his neck, the word “family” written in cursive above an existing cross-and-angel-wings tattoo. The placement is significant, as the original design mirrors one of father David Beckham’s most recognisable tattoos.
Romeo’s new tattoo debut comes just days after Brooklyn, 26, was seen with a noticeable alteration to a tribute tattoo dedicated to his father.
Brooklyn recently covered up the word “Dad” from an anchor tattoo on his right arm, a design that also includes the phrase “Love you Buster,” a childhood nickname given to him by David Beckham.
While the anchor remains intact, the removal of the word sparked widespread speculation about the state of family relations.
The brothers have reportedly been estranged for months, with Brooklyn cutting contact not only with Romeo but also with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and younger siblings, including sister Harper.
Brooklyn has also reportedly covered a separate tattoo honouring his mother, Victoria, further fuelling concerns about the depth of the rift.
In a recent Instagram statement, Brooklyn claimed he had remained silent for years but felt compelled to speak out, accusing his family of leaking negative stories about him and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz. He also alleged they made “performative” social media posts and interfered with his 2022 wedding.
Sources close to the Beckham family have said David and Victoria were “floored” by Brooklyn’s accusations.
They have not publicly responded, though reports suggest Brooklyn has issued a legal notice instructing his parents to communicate with him only through lawyers.
