Bad Bunny deletes all Instagram posts amid spanish Super Bowl performance
The Puerto Rican artist sings entirely in Spanish on Feb.8 at Levi’s Stadium
Bad Bunny has wiped his Instagram clean, leaving fans and followers guessing after his headline Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime performance.
Hours after performing entirely in Spanish on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., the 31-year-old Puerto Rican star (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) removed all posts from his account, deleted his profile photo, and unfollowed everyone.
The only remaining element is a link to his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, in his bio. Fans quickly speculated about the drastic move, with some hoping it signals a major announcement and others suggesting it could be a reaction to backlash from his all-Spanish performance.
The halftime show featured celebrity appearances from Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Cardi B, and Pedro Pascal, along with vibrant displays of flags representing countries throughout the Americas.
Bad Bunny also included a real wedding on the field, highlighting themes of unity and celebration.
Despite largely avoiding politics, the performance sparked discussion after a child actor featured in the show was mistakenly thought to be a 5-year-old recently detained by ICE. It was later confirmed that the child was actor Lincoln Fox.
Not everyone praised the show. Former President Donald Trump criticized the performance on Truth Social, calling it “absolutely terrible” and an “affront to the Greatness of America,” while also complaining about the NFL’s “ridiculous new Kickoff Rule.”
As of Monday, Feb. 9, Bad Bunny has not commented on the Instagram deletion, leaving his more than 50 million followers in suspense.
