Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes split again weeks after reuniting

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes have parted ways once again, just five weeks after confirming they had reconciled.

According to People, multiple sources confirm the country star, 32, and the Outer Banks actor, 33, are “not dating right now.” 

As per the insider close to Stokes, the pair have struggled to align their futures despite lingering feelings for one another.

“They still love each other, which is why they’ve kept trying to make it work,” the source says. “But their lives are in very different places right now. 

"Figuring out where to live and how to truly merge their lives has been hard. It’s something they’ve gone back and forth on.”

Another insider suggests imbalance may have played a role, claiming Ballerini’s continued career growth created tension within the relationship. 

“Kelsea’s been so supportive of him throughout their relationship, but it hasn’t always felt reciprocated,” the source adds, noting there appeared to be “insecurity” on Stokes’ end. Representatives for both stars have not publicly commented.

The on-off couple first sparked romance rumors in January 2023 before going public at the CMT Awards later that year. 

After nearly three years together, they quietly split last September. Though they briefly rekindled their relationship overseas and confirmed they were back together on New Year’s Eve, signs of strain soon resurfaced.

Earlier this month at the Grammys, Ballerini downplayed speculation about their turbulent year, calling it “a messy year for the heart” but insisting she believed in love.

Now, however, the couple appears to have reached another crossroads, one that sources say leaves them prioritizing individual happiness over forcing a future together.
