'Love Island' producer revamps: Richard Cowles promoted, BBC exec joins team
Lifted Entertainment has restructured by promoting Richard Cowles to CEO
Love Island producer Lifted Entertainment has reorganised and has brought on board an entertainment commissioning editor from the BBC, while also appointing Richard Cowles as CEO.
The independent company owned by ITV Studios has appointed two creative directors: Chantal Boyle, known for Stranded on Honeymoon Island, and Ros Coward, executive producer of My Mum, Your Dad, who has been engaged with multiple Lifted projects.
Moreover, there have been a number of notable promotions. Veteran producer Cowles ascends to CEO, with Tom Gould now occupying the role of Chief Content Officer.
Jeanette Moffat takes on the position of Director of Production; Mike Spencer-Hayter and Diego Rincón are named Directors of Unscripted; Kat Hebden steps into the role of Director of Development and New Business; and Micky Van Praagh is appointed as Director of On-Screen Talent.
This new framework will launch two units: one concentrating on current productions and the other on fresh opportunities and expanding the client roster, according to insiders.
Boyle, who previously served as executive producer for Netflix’s Cheaters: Unfinished Business, has been part of the BBC’s entertainment commissioning team over the past year.
Lifted is among several entertainment production companies owned by ITV Studios. It produces Love Island and its related shows, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and the forthcoming The Neighborhood featuring Graham Norton for ITV.
