Ariana Grande has joked that if a movie were made about her life, she would want “a tiny mouse” to star.

The 32-year-old pop star and former Wicked actress told Backstage she envisions “a tiny, beautiful short film” where rodents reenact her career with “little, tiny subtitles at the bottom.” She added that the project should be called Scrap This and Don’t Watch It.

Reflecting on her career, Grande said stepping away from Wicked and her role as Glinda felt like “the right time to turn the page” while proudly marking her achievements in both music and theater.

“Before Wicked, I hadn’t acted in a decade-ish. My pop music career had taken on a life of its own, which I couldn’t have predicted,” she said.

Grande also admitted that securing the role of Glinda was challenging due to her pop icon image. “I had to do a lot of deconstructing to convince people I could disappear into her,” she explained.

Despite her many successes, Grande said she remains “as curious and inspired as the first day I got here” and acknowledged that taking a career break would be “healthy” after years of nonstop work.
