Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she underwent a blood-filtering therapy to tackle “chronic fatigue” and “brain fog,” describing the results as transformative.

The 53-year-old actress and wellness entrepreneur shared her experience in Richard Eden’s Daily Mail column, explaining that she turned to therapeutic plasma exchange to remove toxins from her blood, including microplastics and mold.

“I was so interested in this idea that we could filter out things in our blood that were making us more sick,” Paltrow said, adding, “I felt amazing after. I felt this immediate unburdening and clarity and lightness.”

According to reports, Paltrow completed five sessions at a Chicago clinic, with the total cost around £36,500.

The Iron Man star, who frequently shares wellness tips on her Goop website, acknowledged that her health choices often spark criticism.

In a Women’s Health interview, she said, “When you’re at the forefront of something that’s new, people can get really reactive: ‘This is crazy! Why are you doing this?’ Then, five years later, everyone’s fine with it. I have a bit of pattern recognition in hand at this point — which is helpful.”

She also emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and tuning out criticism. “The only time criticism hurts is if you have a judgment about yourself about that very thing,” Paltrow said.

“It’s a blessing to be liberated from the chains of other people’s perceptions of you. I’ve gotten to a point where I like myself. I do my best as a person. I also have nothing to hide.”

Paltrow is not alone in exploring blood-cleansing therapies. Simon Cowell has also embraced similar treatments, telling Rolling Stone Music Now that he undergoes tests at a wellness clinic where blood is filtered and reinfused.

“You do all these tests, and they tell you your age, so I’ve actually aged backwards by eating better, more exercise, less stress, certain supplements. My brain is still there, I still have the energy,” Cowell said.

The actress’s latest wellness endeavor underscores her continued interest in unconventional health treatments and her commitment to sharing those experiences with her followers.
