Authorities have continued searching for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, 11 days after she was reported missing, operating on the belief that she is still alive.

On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to People that investigators “are still operating” on the assumption that Nancy is alive.

Earlier that day, the FBI’s Phoenix office said in a post on X that “numerous FBI agents are conducting an extensive search along multiple roadways in the Catalina Foothills area related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.”

Nancy, 84, was last seen the evening of Jan. 31, after being dropped off at her Arizona home around 9:48 p.m. following dinner with her daughter Annie Guthrie and her son-in-law.

Her family reported her missing the next day after she failed to meet friends for a church livestream. Authorities believe she may have been kidnapped in the early hours of Feb. 1. Blood found on the exterior porch of her home has been confirmed to match Nancy’s DNA.

On Feb. 10, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI Director Kash Patel released images and video of an “armed subject” linked to the disappearance, showing the individual wearing gloves and a face-covering mask.

“Working with our partners — as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered previously inaccessible images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a statement.

Savannah Guthrie, 54, reshared the images on Instagram, posting: “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.

She followed with another video clip, urging, “Someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”

Since Nancy’s disappearance, several alleged ransom notes have been sent to media outlets. Deadlines reportedly set for Feb. 5 and Feb. 9 have come and gone, prompting public pleas from Savannah and her siblings.

On Feb. 4, Savannah posted a video asking for proof of life, and on Feb. 7, she shared another emotional plea, saying, “We will pay.”

In a heartfelt message, Savannah told followers: “We believe our mom is still out there. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock, trying to bring her home. She was taken, and we don’t know where. And we need your help.”

The Today anchor and her siblings have repeatedly appealed to the public and potential kidnappers to ensure Nancy’s safe return.
