Khloé Kardashian recalls ‘mortifying’ moment she slapped Tristan Thompson

Khloé Kardashian has revealed she once “slapped” Tristan Thompson during an awkward romantic gesture that left her feeling more irritated than impressed.

Speaking on her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, the reality star looked back on a surprise serenade the NBA player arranged years ago, a moment that, at the time, only heightened tensions in their on-again, off-again relationship.

The Good American founder, 41, shares daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3, with Thompson. Recalling the incident that took place before Tatum was born, Kardashian said she was caught off guard when singer Giveon was hired to perform for her.

“There was one time I was serenaded, and it was, I think, just a random day because I wasn’t expecting it. This was years ago. Tatum wasn’t born. Yeah, it was just True…” she explained.

At the time, Kardashian admitted she was not in a good place with Thompson.

“Giveon wasn’t who he was now. And he is just singing. I remember I hated Tristan and I was like, ‘Why are you doing this?’” she said. “And Giveon is pouring his heart out. And Tristan’s trying to sit next to me and I’m like, slapping him, and poor Giveon is still singing. It was mortifying.”

The reality star described the moment as deeply uncomfortable, despite her admiration for the singer’s talent. “I was like, ‘God, this guy is such a great singer. I love this guy,’” she recalled.

In an effort to ease the tension, Kardashian said she went inside to bring their daughter True out to join them. “I just need like a third person to get [away from] Tristan,” she said, adding, “I was so annoyed with Tristan.”

Though the moment was cringe-worthy at the time, Kardashian can now look back on it with humor. She also praised Giveon for maintaining his professionalism throughout the awkward exchange.
