Margot Robbie opens up about the fantasy crush she couldn’t resist at 16
The 'Barbie' star shares a throwback confession about her first major celebrity crush
Margot Robbie has revealed that as a 16-year-old, she would have "risked it all" for Lord of the Rings character Aragorn.
The 35-year-old actress, who stars as Cathy in the new adaptation of Wuthering Heights, admitted she may have "a type" after comparing Aragorn to her co-star Jacob Elordi’s character Heathcliff.
Asked by E! News about her teenage celebrity crush, Robbie said, “I would've risked it all for Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. He's kind of giving Heathcliff in the first half of the movie with the long hair and the beard. I have a type, I guess.”
The actress also shared insights into filming intimate scenes, saying that while they can be “quite technical” and choreographed, other moments, like argument scenes, can carry more raw emotion.
“Those scenes often end up being quite technical. They require quite a bit of choreography. There’s actually a lot more ‘in the moment’ feelings in other scenes,” she explained. “Sometimes argument scenes are the ones where you’re like, ‘Oh wow, we’re all kind of building up now, and we’re all kind of in the moment.’”
Robbie credited director Emerald Fennell and the production team for setting the cast up for success.
“We had the most amazing screenplay and incredible designers for shots, sets, and costumes. Emerald is so attuned to what can make someone go and gasp. We were just given all the ingredients to do something amazing, and all we needed to do was bring our best,” she said.
