Lili Reinhart and Lola Tung lead witchy mall cult in first ‘Forbidden Fruits’ trailer
Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, and Emma Chamberlain are also stars in the horror comedy
Lili Reinhart and Lola Tung are stirring up dark magic in the first full trailer for Forbidden Fruits.
The horror-comedy, released by IFC Films on Friday, Feb. 13, marks the film debut of Emma Chamberlain and also stars Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, and Gabrielle Union. The movie hits theaters on March 27.
Reinhart, 29, plays Apple, a mall store employee at Free Eden who secretly runs a “witchy femme cult” in the store’s basement after hours. She is joined by fellow cult members Cherry (Pedretti, 30) and Fig (Shipp, 34).
Tung, 23, plays Pumpkin, a new hire whose arrival challenges the group’s performative sisterhood, forcing the women to confront their inner poisons or face deadly consequences.
Meredith Alloway makes her directorial debut with the film, co-writing the script alongside Lily Houghton.
Among the producers is Jennifer’s Body screenwriter Diablo Cody. Alloway told Collider that the film blends satire with horror, drawing tonal inspiration from American Psycho.
“Everyone in the movie takes their lives seriously, and it can be fun to laugh at it, but there are also extremely dark moments that feel raw and real,” Alloway said.
The trailer, released on Galentine’s Day, highlights the movie’s mix of humor, female dynamics, and chilling undertones, offering viewers a peek into a world of witchy rituals and deadly rivalries hidden beneath the fluorescent lights of a suburban mall.
Forbidden Fruits opens in theaters on March 27.
