Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo gets candid about her IVF journey
The podcaster describes her IVF experience as 'one of the hardest things' she’s ever faced
Bunnie Xo has opened up about the emotional challenges she has faced during her IVF journey with husband Jelly Roll.
During an exclusive interview with People about her upcoming memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, the podcaster and stepmom of two discussed the struggles she has faced during her in-vitro fertilization (IVF) journey.
"I don't know if it's that I did or if I didn't choose it, but I think before we come here, we choose our life path, and we yearn for the pain that we go through," Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, told People. "And I genuinely think that having those abortions when I was younger [and] the journey that I'm going on now with IVF [is] God's putting me through this again, so that I can be a voice for those women who are going through this process."
Bunnie, who is stepmom to Jelly Roll’s daughter Bailee Ann, 17, and son Noah Buddy, 9, called IVF "one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through."
She praised other women undergoing similar journeys, calling them "warriors" and highlighting the supportive community that surrounds those experiencing fertility challenges.
"God is... Everything happens for a reason. It always comes around full circle," she said.
In June, Bunnie shared a hopeful moment in her IVF journey on Instagram, celebrating what she described as a "huge win" after five months of waiting. While she clarified that it wasn’t a pregnancy announcement, she called the development a meaningful step forward.
Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, previously spoke about the couple’s "baby fever" during the January 28 episode of Netflix’s Star Search.
The country music star admitted that seeing a young performer ignited their excitement to grow their family even more.
Bunnie Xo’s candid reflections offer a window into the emotional rollercoaster of IVF and provide encouragement to others navigating the process.
Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic is set for release later this year.
