Maya Hawke weds singer Christian Lee Hutson in intimate NYC ceremony

Maya Hawke said “I do” on Valentine’s Day, marrying singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson during an intimate evening ceremony at St. George’s Episcopal Church in New York City.

The 27-year-old Stranger Things actress and the 35-year-old musician celebrated their love surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues. 

Hawke’s famous parents, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, were in attendance, alongside her siblings and many castmates from the Netflix hit, including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and Joe Keery.

Hawke wore a white wedding dress paired with an oversized, feathery winter coat, while Hutson opted for a classic tuxedo. Thurman chose a light blue gown with matching shoes, and Ethan Hawke kept it sleek in an all-black ensemble.

The couple first met years ago while recording music together. Hutson, a New York-based musician who opened for Phoebe Bridgers on tour between 2022 and 2023, was also featured on Hawke’s 2024 album, Chaos Angel. 

Their relationship became public in February 2024 when Hutson referred to Hawke as his fiancée during a SoCal Sound Session interview.

Hawke and Hutson had made public appearances prior to their nuptials, including a red carpet debut at John Proctor Is the Villain in April 2024 and attending the Prada FW25 show during Milan Fashion Week in February 2025. 

Social media posts from the couple have often showcased their creative and personal bond, with Hawke describing Hutson as a “poet” and “musical genius.”

During an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Hawke spoke about the depth of their relationship.

“It's awesome. I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. They know you, and as a human being who has dated other people, they really know you as a person who has feelings … not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto.”
