Dana Eden, a prominent Israeli television producer who was working on the Tehran series, has died unexpectedly at the age of 52 during filming in Greece.

Eden was in Athens producing Season 4 of the Apple TV+ spy drama when she was found unresponsive in her hotel room on Sunday.

Hebrew-language media reports, later cited by the The Times of Israel, said she was discovered by her brother.

Reuters reported that authorities are treating the case as a suspected suicide based on preliminary evidence and testimonies.

Local police have ordered an autopsy and are reviewing security footage as part of the ongoing investigation.

In a statement, Israeli public broadcaster Kan paid tribute to Eden, describing her as one of the senior figures in Israel’s television industry who played a key role in shaping some of its most influential productions.

The production company behind Tehran, Donna and Shula Productions, dismissed speculation circulating on social media that her death was criminal or politically motivated, calling such claims “baseless.”

Israeli citizens are prohibited from travelling to Iran, and the series is filmed in Greece.

Eden’s passing marks a significant loss for the Israeli film and television community. Beyond Tehran, she worked on several acclaimed projects and had built a respected career across numerous productions.

Season 3 of Tehran recently premiered following delays caused by the Israel-Hamas war.
