Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim confirms breakup with Jessica Vargas
Both stars emphasized their mutual love and continued friendship on Instagram
Jason Oppenheim and Jessica Vargas have called it quits—but they’re making it clear that their bond remains strong.
The Oppenheim Group owner, 48, and the realtor associate confirmed their breakup in statements shared exclusively with People on Sunday, February 15, while attending a wedding together in Hawaii.
“Jessica is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met, inside and out, and while we won’t be husband and wife, we will be best friends,” Oppenheim said. “Having her in my life is what matters most.”
Vargas echoed the sentiment, adding, “Jason and I have a lot of love for each other, and that’s not going anywhere.
The best outcome for us is staying close and remaining in each other’s lives as best friends. He’s truly a gem of a human with the biggest heart, and I’m grateful for him.”
The couple also shared brief statements on Instagram Stories. Oppenheim wrote over a black-and-white photo of the pair, “We’re no longer boyfriend and girlfriend... but still love each other and still best friends,” while Vargas reposted, adding, “Love you J & may this type of friendship find us all.”
Oppenheim and Vargas first went public with their romance in April 2025 at the Los Angeles premiere of The Accountant 2, making a red-carpet debut together.
A week later, they went Instagram official, sharing snapshots of intimate and fun moments, from hiking trips and boat outings to birthday celebrations and cozy nights at home.
Their relationship even earned the silent approval of Oppenheim’s ex, Chrishell Stause, who “liked” some of the early posts.
Despite the split, both stars emphasize that their friendship—and mutual admiration remains intact.
