In a world saturated with wellness "hacks," Dr Sanjay Bhojraj, a cardiologist with two decades of experience, has provided a refreshing dose of reality.

During a recent social media session on Saturday, he shared expert insights on three major health dilemmas, cutting through the noise to focus on what truly supports long-term vitality.

When asked to choose between an eight-hour sleep or a morning workout, Dr Bhojraj did not hesitate. For him, restorative rest is the absolute priority.

He famously remarked that he would "trade his pinky finger" for a lifetime of guaranteed eight-hour sleeps.

The damage caused by chronic sleep deprivation is extensive and often irreversible, whereas a workout can simply be moved to later in the day.

The expert also weighed in on the battle between stress management and dietary changes. While a balanced diet is essential for physical function, he prioritises managing the mind first.

Unaddressed stress is a lethal trigger for various ailments, with Dr Bhojraj warning: “It causes neuroinflammation, accelerates cardiovascular disease and makes cancer more likely."

Finally, addressing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), the doctor emphasised that a "natural approach" through lifestyle optimisation must be the foundation.

Without regular exercise and a clean diet, he suggests HRT becomes merely an expensive treatment with limited results.

His advice serves as a vital reminder that health is built on mastering the basics—sleep, stress, and lifestyle—rather than chasing quick-fix shortcuts.

Sustainable wellbeing, it seems, is less about the newest trend and more about respecting the body's fundamental needs.
