Shawn Ryan confirms Season 4 scripts in progress for ‘The Night Agent’
The show recently secured $31.6 million tax credit to relocate production from New York to Los Angeles
Work on a potential fourth season of The Night Agent is already in motion, even though Netflix has not officially renewed the hit action thriller.
Creator Shawn Ryan revealed that a writers room was quietly assembled in 2025 and scripts are currently being developed.
“Season 4 is not officially picked up yet, but we’ve been working for a while on the storyline,” Ryan said, noting that several scripts are already in progress.
The move comes as Season 3, starring Gabriel Basso, prepares to premiere on February 19.
Netflix is reportedly waiting to assess Season 3’s performance before granting a formal renewal.
The show recently secured a $31.6 million tax credit to relocate production from New York to Los Angeles, with a six-month deadline to begin filming.
Season 1 remains one of Netflix’s most popular English-language series, earning 98.2 million views in its first 91 days. Season 2 also performed strongly, though with lower overall numbers.
Ryan said the team is aiming to maintain a yearly release cadence if Season 4 is approved soon.
Compared to his past experience producing 22-episode network seasons, he described the current schedule as manageable.
