Birthday horror as ten-year-old boy falls from Las Vegas zip line
A ten-year-old boy fell nearly twenty feet during his birthday celebrations
What should have been a joyous tenth birthday celebration at a Las Vegas trampoline park ended in terror when a young boy plummeted from an indoor zip line.
Knox was enjoying his special day at Spy Ninjas HQ on 7 February when he fell nearly twenty feet, landing on the floor in front of his horrified family.
Mobile phone footage captured the moment the child, strapped into a harness, lost his footing and dropped, followed by the frantic screams of relatives rushing to his side.
His uncle, Navonte Hill, witnessed the harrowing plunge first-hand. “He landed straight on his back and his head," Hill told local reporters, adding that the family finds the footage too "traumatising" to rewatch.
“Definitely the scariest moment as a family, for all of us,” he continued. “You know, on his birthday, on top of it.” Knox was treated for a concussion and, thankfully, is expected to return to school shortly.
Following the accident, Spy Ninjas HQ expressed their sympathies, stating, "nothing matters more to us than the safety and well-being of our guests."
The venue has temporarily closed its zip line and rope courses to allow for an internal investigation and an audit by an independent safety inspector.
Staff are also undergoing retraining by external experts. Although the park remains open, the zip line will stay closed until it is officially certified as safe.
For Knox’s family, the focus remains on his recovery after a day of celebration became a moment they will never forget.
