Why you feel exhausted even after a full night’s sleep
Physical symptoms like muscle tension often stem from a mind stuck on high alert
Sometimes, a deep-rooted emotional fatigue settles in that no amount of sleep can fix. You might be ticking off every item on your to-do list and showing up for friends, yet a dull heaviness lingers beneath that functional exterior.
This isn't just "Monday blues"—it is a signal from your body that you are operating on autopilot.
Aanandita Vaghani, founder of UnFix Your Feelings, explains that these signs are vital cues for re-evaluation.
“Your nervous system communicates in subtle ways when you’re moving too fast,” she noted.
One primary indicator is feeling drained even after rest. Vaghani often hears clients say, “I’m tired, but I don’t know why.”
This typically suggests nervous system fatigue where the body remains in a state of high alert as its default mode.
Another red flag appears when routine tasks, such as replying to a text or concentrating at the office, feel emotionally overwhelming.
This isn't laziness; it is a sign that your cognitive capacity is overstretched. Physically, this manifests as headaches, gut issues, or tension.
Furthermore, being productive on the outside while feeling "flat" or irritable inside suggests you are disconnected.
“This is often a sign of dysregulation, where speed has replaced presence. The body copes by numbing out or becoming reactive,” Vaghani warned.
To heal, one must create pauses between tasks and allow emotions to surface without judgement.
Slowing down isn't about quitting; it is about returning to a rhythm that allows your mind to finally catch up with your life.
