Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have shared an update on their wedding plans, teasing fans that their long-awaited nuptials are likely two years away.

The couple, who got engaged during the first season of ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, addressed questions about their relationship, blended family, and future plans in a joint Instagram reel shared on February 16.

Chapple, 62, explained that family milestones have been their priority when considering a wedding date.

Vassos, 63, is a mother of four adult children, Allison, Nicholas, Erica, and Luke, from her late husband, John. Chapple has two children, Taylor and Tyler, with his ex-wife, Heather.

“In 2025, Joan had a big wedding for her oldest son, Nick. And then she’s got another one getting married this year, so we’ve elected to not compete with them,” Chapple said. “So you might look for something in 2027.”

Vassos added with a laugh, “Yeah, ’27. Hopefully nobody else will get married, but I think you have a son who possibly could, so we’ll see! We have grown kids, and they just happen to be falling into that part of their lives too … We’ll get married sometime when our kids aren’t getting married.”

The couple also addressed why they haven’t moved in together yet, explaining that they plan to eventually combine households once they settle on a location and aren’t as tied up with work and travel.

“We haven’t figured out the city yet,” Vassos said. “When I think about this question, I think it probably won’t be where I live. It probably won’t be where you live, [Chock]. I think we will probably keep our houses and we’ll have a love shack someplace.”

Despite the distance, the couple emphasized that they remain close. “We talk every day and see each other a lot,” Vassos noted.

Fans were also curious about how the pair’s blended families were adjusting. Vassos said the transition has been smooth: “We have grown kids, so they’ve liked making friends with each other. Our girls get along great. Our boys get along great.”

Chapple added, “They all get along great, they do. We're lucky.” Vassos agreed, saying, “We got really lucky we didn’t have to really merge families. They just are friends, so it was super easy.”

The couple has repeatedly stated that they are in no rush to plan the wedding.

Vassos told Bachelor Nation in March 2025, “I think we’re really enjoying where we are right now, and I think if we put that pressure on us, we won’t enjoy what we’re doing now. So there’s no rush.

We don’t have a biological clock, we’re not having kids, so I think when the time is right we’ll know it and we’ll go and do it! But right now what we’re doing is perfect.”
