Mark Cuban asserts that there are two categories of AI users. Are you one of them?

"Typically, there are two kinds of LLM users: those who leverage it to learn extensively and those who use it to avoid learning," Cuban remarked about large language models in an X (formerly Twitter) post on Tuesday.

The "Shark Tank" entrepreneur has shown strong support for AI and stated that businesses should adopt it.

Cuban has indicated there will be "two kinds of companies: those proficient in AI, and the rest."

He also noted that AI models can’t provide all-encompassing answers and described them as "ignorant" yet comparable to "a savant with an incredible memory."

Bill Gurley, a partner at the venture capital firm Benchmark in Silicon Valley, concurs "entirely" with Cuban about the two types of AI users.

"If your career path is unique and you aim to stand out, AI acts like 'jet fuel' - allowing you to learn and progress at unprecedented rates," Gurley commented on X in response to Cuban.

Conversely, it might result in the opposite impact.

Even some of AI’s staunchest supporters have cautioned that the technology could promote complacency.

Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, mentioned last year that a major threat AI poses to humans is "deskilling," leading workers to become more indolent by overly depending on AI tools.

"Continuous learning is essential," he stated in an interview with The Times of London. "Being capable of synthesising and scrutinising information is a fundamental part of learning."
