KATSEYE star Manon Bannerman announces indefinite hiatus for health

Manon Bannerman, the 23-year-old Swiss star of the global girl group KATSEYE, has announced she is stepping back from the spotlight for an indefinite period.

In a statement released on Friday, the group's labels, HYBE and Geffen Records, confirmed that the singer and model would be taking a "temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing."

The decision follows what the group described as "open and thoughtful conversations." While KATSEYE will continue their scheduled activities as a five-piece—including a high-profile tour and upcoming festival slots—the members and management expressed their full support for Bannerman.

In a personal follow-up message to fans, Manon reassured her "EYEKONS," stating, "I'm healthy, I'm okay, and I'm taking care of myself," adding that she is "trusting the bigger picture."

Bannerman, who rose to fame on the Netflix series Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, has previously been candid about the intense pressures of modern stardom, including facing online harassment that she described as "terrorizing."

Her hiatus comes just weeks after the group’s landmark performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

KATSEYE concluded their announcement by thanking fans for their "continued love, patience, and understanding," promising a reunion "when the time is right."
