Kayla Nicole hints past love with Travis Kelce ended due to poor timing

Kayla Nicole, the 34-year-old media personality, has opened up about her past relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, suggesting that timing played a major role in their breakup.

The couple, who dated on and off for five years between 2017 and 2022, first connected via social media. Kayla revealed that while Kelce was “the right person,” their relationship didn’t work out due to timing.

During a TikTok live conversation with Love Island’s Ace Greene, Kayla said, “Who knows. [It] could be compatibility issues. Right person, wrong time.” 

She added that her last serious relationship ended “probably, like, three years ago now. It’s been a long time.”

Reflecting on dating in 2026, Kayla admitted it hasn’t been easy to move on. “It’s kinda sad because I feel like dating… the bar is in hell. So, my new list of requirements is: having a job that’s at the top of the list,” she joked.

Kayla and Travis officially parted ways in May 2022, and since then, Kelce has moved on with pop superstar Taylor Swift. 

Their relationship began in 2023 after a unique meeting setup. Travis’ initial attempt to meet Swift backstage at her Eras Tour failed, but after discussing the incident on his New Heights podcast, friends helped make the introduction.

Swift recalled the encounter on the podcast last year: “It was such a wild romantic gesture… This felt like an ’80s John Hughes movie, and he was just standing outside my window with a boombox, being like, ‘I want to date you!’”

Kelce jokingly added, “I was sitting there at the Eras Tour listening to every single one of those songs, like, ‘I know what she wants me to do.’”
