Beloved mom killed in Chelveston home; investigation leads to arrest
Helen Bird passed away eight days after a serious incident, and a man has been charged with her murder
A 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Helen Bird, a mother of two described by her family as “kind, selfless and loyal.”
Bird, 47, died on February 10, eight days after sustaining serious injuries in an incident at a home on High Street in Chelveston, a village in North Northamptonshire, England, Northamptonshire Police confirmed on Friday.
“A murder investigation was launched as a result, and a 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident,” the police said in a statement.
In a heartfelt statement, Bird’s family remembered her as “a deeply loved daughter, devoted mother-of-two, sister and friend.”
They added: “She was kind, selfless and loyal to her family, with her children always at the center of her world. Helen’s warmth, compassion and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. We are devastated by her loss and immensely proud of the woman she was.
We respectfully ask that our privacy is honored as we try to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss, and we are grateful for the support shown to us at this difficult time. Helen will always be loved and forever remembered.”
Northamptonshire Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Bird’s death.
