Kurt Russell prepares for 75th birthday with gratitude and a simple celebration
The Hollywood icon reflects on longevity ahead of his March 17 milestone
Kurt Russell has embraced the approach of his milestone 75th birthday with gratitude and perspective.
The veteran actor, who will turn 75 on March 17, has said he feels fortunate simply to be “here” and in good health as he approaches the landmark birthday.
Speaking ahead of the occasion, Russell admitted he has not mapped out any grand celebrations.
Asked how he plans to mark the day, he joked that it might involve little more than “a beer,” adding that after a busy holiday season, birthdays in his household tend to “just come and go.”
Still, the milestone is not lost on him. Calling 75 “a big number,” Russell emphasized that feeling healthy matters more than any elaborate party plans.
The actor, who has been in a decades-long relationship with Goldie Hawn since 1983, has often credited their shared outlook on life for their longevity — both personally and professionally.
The couple, who first met in the 1960s and reunited years later, have famously chosen not to marry, maintaining that their commitment has never required a legal document.
Hawn has previously spoken candidly about the foundations of their 40-plus-year partnership, highlighting intimacy, kindness and personal freedom as key ingredients.
She has said that while chemistry plays an important role, mutual respect and allowing one another independence are equally essential.
Together, Russell and Hawn share son Wyatt Russell and maintain a blended family that includes their children from previous relationships, forming what Hawn has described as a “real family unit” built on openness and support.
