Besides activating Bixby or Gemini, users of the Galaxy S26 can summon Perplexity by saying “hey, Plex.”

Adding Perplexity to Galaxy AI is part of the company's strategy to adopt a “multi-agent ecosystem.”

People often choose different AI assistants based on their strengths. Therefore, Samsung is allowing the integration of various agents within the operating system.

"Hey, Plex" is more than just an app embedded in a Galaxy device for quickly obtaining information.

Perplexity will have access to applications like Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, and Calendar, plus certain third-party apps, although Samsung hasn't specified which ones.

Samsung believes that AI will increasingly become the interface between users and their phones.

However, as observed, people can grow strong bonds with specific AI services. Therefore, the company is betting that empowering users to select any preferred agent for their phone will set them apart from rivals like Apple and Google.

Naturally, Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event is on the horizon. We can expect to hear more about Galaxy AI and Samsung’s aspirations for a future with multiple agents on the 25th.
