Brazilian influencer Maria Rita dies suddenly at 25

Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva, known to her followers simply as Maria Rita, passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 25.

The São Bernardo do Campo-based content creator was a rising figure in the beauty and fashion community, amassing more than 11,000 Instagram followers and 65,000 fans on TikTok. 

She regularly shared makeup tutorials, product reviews, and fashion insights, inspiring a growing audience with her creativity and charm.

Friends and fellow creators expressed shock and grief at her sudden passing. Luana Lilian, a close friend, posted on Instagram, “Maria Rita was a charming person, one of those presences that effortlessly illuminate a room. To the family, I send my most sincere and heartfelt embrace. Her light remains in every memory, in every story told, in every life she touched, including mine.”

Another friend, Lívia, noted that Rodrigues’s death came unexpectedly. “Not even 24 hours later you were gone,” she wrote. 

“It was 10 years of a friendship that will never be the same again, you were the sister I never had.” The two had reportedly spent time together in the studio the day before her passing and had made plans for the following day.

Rodrigues’s social media posts show she remained active and engaged with her followers until February 19, just two days before her death, sharing glimpses of her life and fashion choices, including a new pair of sunglasses. 

Fans responded with an outpouring of condolences and tributes. One wrote, “So sweet and talented! May God receive you with lots of light and love. Rest in peace.” Another added, “You were my inspiration as an influencer. Every post was special and unique. Strength to all the family.”

The family held a funeral service on February 22, followed by a burial on February 23 in São Bernardo do Campo, honoring Rodrigues’s memory and the impact she had on her community.

Maria Rita’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and fans mourning a young life that touched many through her creativity, kindness, and passion for beauty and fashion.
