Zachery Ty Bryan received a 16-month jail sentence after his arrest in February 2024 on DUI charges.

The Home Improvement star, who is 44, was given this sentence on Monday (February 23), following the 2024 incident when he was detained in La Quinta, California for a felony DUI and a contempt of court misdemeanor.

Court documents accessed by PEOPLE reveal that on February 23, Bryan renewed his guilty plea to the DUI charge and accepted a plea agreement with prosecutors.

He also confessed to a charge enhancement linked to his previous two DUI convictions.

Besides a 16-month term in county jail, Bryan was not granted probation. With a credit of 57 days served, he is required to remain incarcerated for over 14 months.

Bryan is also scheduled for a court appearance in Lane County, Oregon, on March 2 for a hearing about a probation breach linked to a domestic violence case from July 2023.

At that moment, the Eugene Police Department detained him following a report of a physical altercation.

Held at Lane County Jail, he faced charges of Fourth Degree Assault under the Abuse Prevention Act, third-degree robbery, and misdemeanor harassment.

In October 2023, in a plea to "felony assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence," Lane County's chief deputy district attorney shared with PEOPLE that Bryan was given a seven-day jail sentence.

Then on November 29, 2025, he breached his probation related to a previous domestic violence incident in Oregon.

Both Bryan and his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, were detained that day. Cartwright, 32, was later arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty to DUI, two charges of recklessly endangering another, and three counts of reckless driving.

At his December 3 court appearance, Bryan disputed probation violation charges. He was placed in Lane County Community Corrections with no bail, and released on December 10.

On December 29, Bryan admitted to three probation breaches, and his probation officer suggested he serve the full 19-to-20-month sentence initially proposed for his 2023 domestic violence case, reported KEZI

He awaits another court session on March 2.
