Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for playing Brad Taylor on the hit 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, has been sentenced to 16 months in county jail following a 2024 DUI arrest.

The 44-year-old actor pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, admitting to a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Bryan, who has two prior DUI convictions, was denied probation and credited with 57 days already served.

Upon completing his sentence, he will also need to resolve outstanding warrants related to the incident.

Bryan’s legal troubles extend beyond DUI offenses. In July 2023, he faced charges of fourth-degree felony assault, third-degree robbery, and harassment, resulting in a seven-day jail term.

In October 2020, he was arrested following a domestic dispute on alleged fourth-degree assault and strangulation charges, ultimately pleading guilty to misdemeanor menacing and misdemeanor assault.

As part of his latest sentencing, Bryan received 36 months of bench probation and is required to participate in the Bridges2Safety program.

Reflecting on his struggles, Bryan previously told TMZ that early fame contributed to his challenges.

“Being thrust into the spotlight at nine years old brought pressures I wasn’t equipped to handle,” he said. “That’s no justification for my choices as an adult. I’ve struggled with the lasting effects of early fame, addiction, and poor decision-making, which have hurt people I care about and led to repeated legal issues, including DUIs and past domestic incidents.”

Former Home Improvement co-star Tim Allen commented on Bryan’s journey in 2022, saying, “He was a great kid who has grown into a complex man. All you can do is step aside and let somebody go through their process.”
