Kristen Bell has reflected on nearly two decades of love with Dax Shepard and the quality she cherishes most about her husband is his unwavering support.

The 45-year-old actress, who is set to host the 32nd annual Actor Awards on March 1, told People about her marriage to Shepard in a candid conversation ahead of the ceremony. Bell and Shepard, 51, tied the knot in 2013 and share two daughters together.

For Bell, the foundation of their relationship lies in mutual encouragement.

“One thing that I love so much about being married to him is that he is never allergic to me shining more and more,” she said, emphasizing that Shepard has never been threatened by her success. “He never gets insecure about it.”

The sentiment underscores what Bell describes as a partnership built on consistent effort and shared growth.

“Being married for 18 years is a long time,” she noted. “We put a lot of work into it and I’m very happy. We’re very supportive of each other and our marriage and our family.”

Bell, known for projects including Nobody Wants This, The Good Place and Veronica Mars, also shared a glimpse into the everyday ways Shepard shows up for her — even helping backstage with makeup during last year’s awards show.

“There’s nothing that he won’t do to take care of me,” she said, adding with a smile, “He applies himself. So I’m grateful.”

The Los Angeles-based couple frequently offers fans snapshots of their home life, from playful holiday traditions to family trips.

But beyond social media moments, Bell says her family remains the driving force behind her professional choices.

Many of her recent projects have filmed locally a deliberate decision. “I like working in Los Angeles,” she explained, noting that staying close to home allows her to prioritize time with her family.
