Teddi Mellencamp celebrates 'miracle baby' Dove’s 6th birthday
Dove underwent major neurosurgery for craniosynostosis when she was an infant
Teddi Mellencamp is celebrating a deeply emotional milestone as her "miracle baby," Dove, turns six. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alumna marked the occasion on Wednesday, with a poignant Instagram tribute reflecting on their shared resilience.
Dove’s journey began with life-saving neurosurgery at just nine months old following a diagnosis of lambdoid craniosynostosis.
Today, her mother draws strength from that bravery as she navigates her own ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer.
Mellencamp, 44, expressed immense relief at being present for this year's festivities, having missed her daughter’s previous birthday due to hospitalisation.
“I am still so sorry I was in the hospital and missed your 5th party; but dang you don’t know how grateful I am to be at this one,” she wrote.
The reality star was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in 2025 after it spread to her brain and lungs. Despite a daunting "50/50" survival prognosis, she recently shared that immunotherapy has left her with "no trace of cancer."
Reflecting on their parallel health battles, Teddi noted that Dove’s spirit has become a guiding light. “The strength and resilience you have shown since you came into this world is something I have learned to use in my own fight,” she shared.
From wearing cranial helmets to undergoing multiple surgeries, the mother-daughter duo have faced immense hurdles together.
As Teddi continues her post-treatment journey, she remains focused on enjoying life alongside her family, inspired by Dove’s unapologetic joy.
