Oliver "Power" Grant, a key figure in the Wu-Tang Clan, has passed away.

Grant left us on Monday, February 23, reported Hot 97. He was 52 years old.

The reason for his death has yet to be shared.

"Rest in Power, Power," the rap group shared on Instagram.

Method Man, Raekwon, Rza, and Gza all expressed their condolences to the influential producer.

Method Man posted a photo with Grant on Instagram with the caption, “Paradise my Brother safe Travels!!

Raekwon, on the other hand, shared a group picture on Instagram with the words, “POWER we been everywhere …. now you everywhere ! the most high is merciful love you.”

"His presence was essential. Wu-Tang wouldn't be what it is without Power. It's a huge loss for us. My sympathies go out to the family," wrote Gza on Instagram.

Okay Player media outlet recognized Grant as “a pivotal force behind one of hip-hop’s most influential movements.”

Their message read, “His commitment to creative independence and community upliftment was instrumental not just for a group, but for a legacy that revolutionised music,” in an Instagram post. 

“His legacy will continue through the culture he elevated and the numerous people he inspired.”

Grant played a major role in the Wu-Tang Clan's ventures and established the Wu Wear apparel brand.

In a 2011 conversation with Complex, he stated, “Well, you know, ultimately, we all have an interest in fashion. When we first started with our music, my focus was on diversifying our endeavors, especially since I wasn't performing as a rapper or music producer.”

Discussing the crew's involvement in the fashion line, Grant noted, “That was entirely my vision. I collaborated with a dedicated team to bring my ideas to life. But it all came from my perspective on how I envisioned it.”

“Ultimately, it was a project I envisioned for us, so the world could see. While they didn’t actively participate directly, their natural influence and being my friends—and now, my business associates—shaped its style,” he explained.

Besides Method Man and Raekwon, other members of the group include RZA, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa. Ol' Dirty Bastard was part of the collective until his passing in 2004.

Grant showcased his acting talents in 1998’s Belly and 1999’s Black and White, alongside Method Man.
